The Faculty of Education, Humanities and Social Sciences

The Faculty of Education, Humanities and Social Sciences is the same age as the university itself.

From 1990, when Akhaltsikhe Branch of Ivane Javakhishvili Tbilisi State University was founded the faculty of Humanities was represented by the faculties of Philology and History. After a short time the faculty of foreign languages has joined them. After the reorganization of the branch and establishment of LELP Akhaltsikhe Institute the faculty administratively united the faculties of Pedagogy (Primary education) and Sociology (Journalistic) and the departments of History, Georgian, Turkish, Armenian, Greek, Russian, French, English and German Philology, Wood and Metal Processing and Design.

Since 2007, three-cycle degree studies system has been introduced into the faculty. Students learn desired specialty on the Vocational, Bachelor's and Master's programmes.
