The Georgian Law on Higher Education defines a Master’s Degree as: “A second level academic higher education program, which includes elements of scientific research and is designed to train a bachelor or specialist as well as to prepare a person for work with a qualification”.

Graduate Program Structure:

Program Capacity – 120 ECTS (60 ECTS per year, 30 ECTS per semester)

Including a master’s thesis – 30 ECTS.

Conditions for Master’s Degree:

Citizens of Georgia and foreign countries can study for master’s degree at Samtskhe-Javakheti State University.

Graduates are eligible for bachelor’s degree (citizen of Georgia), who gained the right to pass the specialization exam at Samtskhe-Javakheti State University on the basis of the general master’s exam type. After passing the specialization exam at the University, the required precondition for enrollment is the applicant to pass the administrative registration within the timeframe set by the college.

The registration of foreign citizens is carried out in accordance with the procedure established by the legislation of Georgia.

Graduate programs can also continue their studies in institutions of higher education (whose diplomas recognized by the state) and Javakheti State University Mobility in masters in other specialties, if the Graduate Record Examinations passed the test receiver to match the master and graduate students stroma to pass the exam on the type of test.

In accordance with the rules of the University, students can be enrolled in the exchange program.

Additional requirements may be laid down for a particular master’s program.

The exam in the specialty is written. The test works are evaluated with a 100-point system. The exam is considered passed if the contestant receives positive evaluation (minimum 51%). The examinations of the candidates in the specialty exam are approved by the Examination Commission, which is approved by the Dean of the Faculty by an individual administrative-legal act of the Rector or by a resolution of the Academic Council.

If the prerequisite for admission to the master’s program is passing the foreign language exam, the candidate will be admitted to the foreign language exam if he / she successfully passes the specialty exam. The test works are evaluated with a 100-point system. A foreign language exam is considered passed if the candidate receives a positive mark (at least 51%) unless otherwise specified by the master’s program. A foreigner is exempted from the competition with a relevant certificate of foreign language proficiency. The IBSU Examination Center is responsible for the preparation of exams in the foreign language and the correcting of the exam papers. Competitive exams are conducted by IBSU Exam Center.

Applications for Master’s Degree Candidates (hereinafter “Contestants”) are provided by the University Student Registration Office.
